Farmer White’s is a family owned and operated Northern Michigan farm market located in Williamsburg, just 2 miles south of the traffic light in Elk Rapids. We have local produce, artisan baked goods, handmade jams, salsa, dressings and more.
The 3rd generation local market started as a self serve roadside farm stand in 1958 and then graduated to the back of a pickup truck, then to the red roofed white barn and finally expanded to add the current market and kitchen in 2008.
Although Farmer White’s continues to expand to serve it’s growing family of clients it maintains the heritage, small town hospitality and quality produce and artisan goods that it has come to be known for. The family farm raises cherries, peaches, plums, pears, apples, strawberries, raspberries and more. In addition to selling fresh local produce they also transform much of their harvest into gourmet jam, jelly, butter, salsa, pickles, dried fruit, salad dressing, pie, cake, cookies, muffins. There is also a selection of Northern Michigan gifts and home goods to choose from including baskets, candles and cherry and farm inspired toys and decorations.
During the busy season we work 14 hour days, 7 days a week to harvest 10 acres of sweet cherries by hand, 50 acres of tarts mechanically as well as an assortment of other fruits and vegetables and then reserve some of the produce to be used to make handmade pies, jams, salsas, dressings, muffins and more.
We are here to build new relationships. Our orchards allow us to contribute local produce to the community and connect with people through nourishing food. The majority of our customers (including visitors) are not just one time guests, they keep coming back to see us. We get to watch people grow up and then they bring in their kids and they bring their kids. Our customers become extended family.
